At
Hallmark Healthcare we understand individual tastes and interests
vary greatly so we create a mix of activities and events that
will appeal to all our residents and reflect their requirements
and abilities.
Each of our homes employs a dedicated Activity
Co-ordinator. A weekly schedule is published so that residents
can plan in advance what they would like to take part in.
Participation is purely voluntary and on occasions
a one to one session can be arranged if preferable. Help is on
hand to assist residents who would like to keep in touch with
local life – with visits to the shops or other amenities.
Residents’ families are encouraged to make suggestions for
activities and participate in the social calendar.
Whether it’s a birthday or an anniversary,
there's always plenty to celebrate. We also organise a variety
of in-house tea dances, concerts, quiz nights and exercise classes.
One of the highlights of the Hallmark Healthcare
calendar is Hallmark in Bloom. Every year, our homes compete to
have the best-presented and most colourful gardens. Our winning
homes have been outstanding, creating beautiful garden areas for
our residents and their families to relax in and enjoy.
Many of Hallmark’s events raise funds
for national and local charities. Amongst the worthy causes, Hallmark
Healthcare supports the charity NAPA (The National Association
for Providers of Activities for Older People). NAPA believes that
activity is at the heart of care for older people and continuing
self-development is hugely important, this is something we strive
to reflect at each and every Hallmark home.
