More than 250 people gathered at the Raddisson Edwardian Hotel in Heathrow to celebrate with us at our annual awards ceremony.

Guests travelled from all over the country to take part in the glittering event, which saw forty finalists acknowledged for their contribution and dedication.

The eight winners announced on the evening were:

• Young Care Practitioner of the Year, sponsored by Insurance Watch: Louise Teague from Bryn Celyn care home in Maesteg;
• Care Practitioner, sponsored by Bank of Ireland: June Thorpe from Kirkby Manor in Kirkby;
• Trained Nurse of the Year, sponsored by Baker Hygiene: Gillian Jones from Cherry Tree care home in Caldicot;
• Support Services Personality, sponsored by Lang Daniels Patterson: Michelle Williams from Bryn Celyn care home in Maesteg;
• Care Chef of the Year, sponsored by 3663: Jayne Lee from Cartref Annwyl Fan care home in Betws;
• Head Office Personality, sponsored by Cool Blue Computing: Claire Linton;
• Manager of the Year, sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland: Tracey Davies from The Hollies care home in Pontypridd;
• Lifetime Achievement in Care, sponsored by Baxter & King Construction: Cheryl Wanklyn from Cherry Tree care home in Caldicot.
  

For Avnish Goyal, managing director of Hallmark Healthcare, the evening was one of the highlights of the year. He said: “2006 has been an incredible year for Hallmark.
