BUDDING AUTHORS UNCOVERED

Residents at Ty Enfys Care Home have triumphed in the Eisteddfod writing competition taking first place.

A team of elderly residents at Ty Enfys Care Home were awarded joint first prize in the over 50’s writing competition organised by Help the Aged.

The resident’s entry pulled at the heart strings of organisers as they based their heart-warming entry based on their own individual experiences and memories.
The residents were encouraged to visualise the skeleton of the story and the gaps were filled in. The competition allowed the residents to reminisce about the past which sparked feelings and memories that they hadn’t experienced for some time. It was a great tool for communication and interaction between all the residents involved in the development of the story”.

For those residents who were not involved in the writing, they had the pleasure and enjoyment of reading a story written by one of their fellow residents.
