A DOUBLE TOPPING OUT FOR HALLMARK
Hallmark Healthcare has celebrated the topping out of
two new care homes for South Wales.
The two homes – Greenhills
Manor in Merthyr Tydfil and Shire
Hall in Cardiff Bay – will open later this
year, creating around 200 new jobs for the region.
Attending the topping out ceremony for Hallmark was the company’s
Regional Manager for the South West, Cheryl Wanklyn, along with
Head of Dementia for Hallmark Healthcare, Michael Broughton (both
pictured below).
Cheryl said: “These homes will provide state of the art
facilities for residents including a gym, cinema room, overnight
guest room and a therapy rooms. We are delighted with their progress
so far and look forward to seeing them take shape over the coming
months.”

The homes are the latest step in a UK wide multi-million pound
investment programme by Hallmark Healthcare.
For Chairman, Avnish Goyal, their opening marks an important
stage in the company’s development.
He said: “This year, Hallmark is celebrating 10 years in
the care sector. We opened our first care home in South Wales
10 years ago and we now have 9 very successful homes in the region,
so it’s good to be back investing in South Wales again.
To launch the homes at the end of such a landmark year for us,
will be a fantastic way to complete our celebrations.”
Currently Hallmark Healthcare has 1,350 beds in 23 care homes
across England and Wales. The company is investing £300m
over the next five years in its new build development programme,
and acquisition of good quality care homes. This will
see its bed capacity increase to 5,000 by 2010.
In 2006, the company was recognised as one of the top 100 best
companies to work for by the Sunday Times. This year, it was awarded
first class status by the Best Companies Initiative.
