Emmy Lou said: “I love my job, my residents and my colleagues. To be acknowledged in such a way is a huge honour, but I know that I am only one person in a very good team here at Cherry Tree.” Gillian Jones, Home Manager for Cherry Tree Care Home said “Emmy Lou is 100% committed to her job and the residents at Cherry Tree. She always treats them as a member of her family and makes sure she puts them before anything else in the home”. “Emmy Lou makes a special effort to ensure that the families of the residents are involved in their lives as much as possible. She is a truly fantastic nurse that we are very lucky to have at Cherry Tree”. More than 400 people attended the gala dinner at Cardiff’s City Hall, where Gwenda Thomas AM, Welsh Assembly Government Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services presented the awards. The Lord Mayor of Cardiff, The Right Honourable Gill Bird was also in attendance as well as representatives from the Royal Bank of Scotland, who were this year’s sponsors.
