Gwenda Thomas visits Shire Hall
Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services, Gwenda
Thomas paid a visit to Shire
Hall care home in Cardiff Bay. Home Manager, Kieron Walsh
invited her to visit the care home following the announcement
of the new dignity in care award at the Wales Care Awards.
Kieron wanted to show Gwenda all the facilities that Shire Hall
has to offer including the hydrotherapy bathrooms, air conditioning,
hair & beauty salon, cinema, spacious en suite bedrooms and
specialist units for dementia care and young physically disabled.

Gwenda spent several hours at Shire Hall, being taken round the
facilities as well as spending time with all of the residents.
She spoke to some of them in Welsh and sat looking at photographs
with others.
Kieron Walsh commented: "We were delighted that Gwenda Thomas
took time out of her busy schedule to come and visit Shire Hall
and our residents. All the residents enjoyed meeting her and some
even spoke to her in Welsh. I was honoured to show Gwenda around
Shire Hall and to demonstrate the high standard of facilities
and care that we offer our residents."
