hallmark wins at care awards
Congratulations and jubilations – we want the world
to know how proud we are of you.
Our sincere congratulations go to a number of our team members
who have been recognised this year at the Wales Care Awards and
National Care Awards.
In the Wales Care Awards, five of our team reached the finals
and joined the Welsh Assembly Government Minister for Health and
Social Services, Dr Brian Gibbons, at a glittering evening in
Cardiff’s City Hall.
Our finalists from Cherry Tree were Gill Jones
for registered nurse;Clare McConnell in the Newcomer
to Care category; and Yvonne Smith for Catering
in Care. From Ashgrove, Rowena Roberts was up
for the award of Young Care Practitioner of the Year while Dawn
Hawkins made the shortlist for Activity Co-ordinator.
We are delighted that Rowena scooped the top prize, while all
the others were highly commended for their contribution to the
care sector.
Rowena said: ”I can’t quite believe it. It’s
been a great night and having so many of the Hallmark team here
to cheer me on has been fantastic. It was a pleasure to meet the
Minister even if it was a bit nerve-wracking having to go up to
shake his hand on the stage infront of 400 people.”
Just a week later, Hallmark Healthcare played a key role as sponsor
of the National Care Awards. This time, Cheryl Wanklyn
from Cherry Tree was a finalist in the Lifetime Achievement in
Care category; Pauline Waddoups from Kirkby Manor
was a finalist in Registered Manager of the Year; and Jayne
Lee from Cartref Annwyl Fan made the finals of Care Chef
of the Year.
Congratulations to all our finalists here, particularly Pauline
who was took the top accolade.
On receiving the award, she said: ”This is a real honour
and I’m thrilled to win. A good manager is nothing without
a great team though, and this award is as much for them as for
me.”
