FANNING THE FLAMES OF SELF IMPROVEMENT
Hallmark Healthcare resident, Peg Williams, joined her
carers for a training day with a difference last week.
She travelled with a team of seven from Broughton Hall care home
in Wrexham to take part in the motivational masterclass in Leicester
organised by Hallmark Healthcare.
The day involved bar bending, board breaking and culminated in
the 25 metre walk over hot coals and Peg threw herself into it,
proving you are never too old to learn new tricks.
Led by UK master success coach, Andy Harrington of Inner Compass
International, the event encouraged those taking part to achieve
the goals by empowering them with the self confidence needed to
go out and live their dreams
Peg Williams, 89 and resident at Broughton Hall said, “I
have never done anything like this in my whole life and I loved
every single moment of the day. I was the only resident who went
along and so was treated like the queen.

“There is nothing I can compare it to – iron bar
bending and walking over hot coals – it really was a unique
experience. I can’t wait to go again next year and I would
recommend it to anyone”.
Gary Dodd, manager of Broughton Hall said, “I am so proud
of Peg. It was brilliant to be able to take her along with us
and she really did take part in the whole day. Since being back
she has been encouraging all the other residents to come along
next time and she really is looking forward to next year”.
Managing director of Hallmark Healthcare, Avnish Goyal said,
“It really does go to show how special these motivational
days are. It is wonderful to think that Peg could come along and
be part of such an exciting day.
“We have been using this style of training for several
years now in order to inspire our staff to achieve their ambitions
and dreams – the feedback we have received shows that people
really do feel it helps with their self esteem. Therefore it is
invaluable particularly in the industry we work in for delivering
the best care we possibly can”.
