RECORD BREAKING RESIDENT HITS 104
History was made at a Wrexham care home recently as its
oldest ever resident celebrated her 104th birthday.
Alice Moulsdale, who has been a resident at Ashleigh
Court care home since September 2006, celebrated
her 104th birthday with an afternoon knees-up. On the day, Alice
was joined by five generations of family, including her 7 children,
17 grandchildren, 15 great children and 11 great, great grandchildren
as well as The Right Honourable Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor David
Griffiths.
Sarah Morris, Home Manager at Ashleigh Court said:"It is
not every day that you celebrate your 104th birthday, so we wanted
to organise a special party for Alice. I did write to the Royal
Family to see if a representative would be able to join us for
Alice’s birthday celebrations but unfortunately they were
unable to make it. However, Alice will still enjoy a visit from
The Right Honourable Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor David Griffiths
as well as 30 members of her close family so it should be a good
old knees-up".
Sarah continued:"Alice is just incredible for her age,
so I simply can’t believe that she is 104. The Oil of Olay
has certainly worked for her".
Alice, who has lived in Wrexham her whole life, was asked to
reveal the secret to her long life and youthfulness and she said:
"I have never been lazy and God has been good to me".
The birthday celebrations started at 2.30pm with cake, sparkling
wine, music and presents and continued until the Mayor arrived
at 4pm, along with family and close friends for the evening buffet.
