| Great attention
is paid to providing beneficial nutrition here at Hallmark. Many
residents require special diets for medical or religious reasons.
Our experienced Chefs and culinary teams cater for a wide range
of therapeutic and cultural needs, for example:
- Dementia – may require finger foods
or soft diets;
- Diabetics – require a varied healthy
diet, rich in fruit, vegetables and starchy carbohydrates but
low in sugar and saturated fat;
- High Energy Needs – underweight residents
may need fortified, high calorie, high protein foods that are
not too filling.
- Food Allergies and Intolerances – require
diets with the problematic ingredient(s) omitted. Changes to
preparation methods may be required;
- Halal, Kosher and Other Religious Diets –
require that certain foods be omitted and ingredients be sourced
and prepared in a specific way.
Hallmark catering teams take individual needs very seriously
and ensure that their likes and dislikes are taken into account
along with their nutritional requirements.
Eating in a Hallmark care home allows residents to enjoy old
favourites or explore new dining experiences. Many homes add variety
by offering culinary events such as Italian or Indian evenings.
Wherever possible local and organic produce is sourced and put
to good use – and of course, home baked cakes are a welcome
treat to accompany afternoon tea!
